Family decorating
the walls of my hours,
my space, my
memories hoard.
These four
Beauties are my companions.
They have been
with me for every Birthday,
every Christmas,
every New Years for over a decade,
filling the empty
spaces left by their exotic Angel.
This Christmas is
no exception as they accompany me
through the
declining hours of Christmas Eve
and into the early
hours of Christmas Morn .

Reflections
As one who has
walked upon this earth, taking many a path in this plain.
Known sorrow,
laughter, joy, heart ache, love, hate and the ache of pain.
As one who has
savored the taste of many unconventional dishes,
exotic cuisine
from many nations, worlds beyond any of my wishes.
The infinity of
one, not but fleeting glimpses of a delicious moment
swiftly traversing
life’s rocky roads towards an end and then spent
in the remaining
hours of ones expeditiously passing life’s journey,
into ones memory
hoard, into the unfathomable depths of eternity.

Life for the Aged
Old age comes with
an eighteen wheeler’s load of hurt.
Old age comes with
the rest of life, permeated with pain.
Old age comes with
loads of memories, experiences missed.
Old age comes with
loads of memories, experiences to relish.
Old age becomes
moments for reminiscing, looking back into the past.
Old age becomes
the catalyst that brings one to memories that once were.
Old age becomes
the walls that block one from experiences, no longer able to be.
Old age becomes
the barrier that prevents many from living the life they once did.
Old age becomes
the obstacle to journeys, to adventures once prolifically brought light.
Old age becomes
the impediment that has brought life to these very unfulfilling moments.
